About

I am Jen Burmeister, a stay-at-home mom in Michigan of two rambunctious boys … a one year old whose been walking for three months and my thirty four year old fiance who still hasn’t learned to put the toilet seat down. I write when I feel the world should understand what I go through on a daily basis … selfish, I know. More importantly, though, I hope to reach out to others who’ve been through similar situations (or plan to in the near future). It’s all about sharing with others and laughing at life, because sometimes you have to laugh in order to keep yourself from crying.
A couple of years ago, I accidentally deleted my blog www.girlfromasmalltown.blogspot.com by deleting my Google account, and it was completely devastating. I cried for a couple of hours, and then I realized that I am a writer, which means I can still write … which means that all the creative writing in my life had not completely disappeared. It’s a scary thing losing all the work that you’ve invested in for years, but then again, you also get rid of all the garbage writing too.
So … thank you for visiting this website. I hope you will enjoy the personal experiences and information regarding a multitude of subjects — but mostly about being a modern stay-at-home mom with an active child and a handful of a husband. And so the writing continues … it feels good to be back.
